Sunrise Healing Arts LLC’s creation began when its founder, Connie Herris, was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and her horse, Critter, developed cancer around the same time. To ease the symptoms of her lupus, she began the usual treatments of steroids and experienced the intense emotional roller coaster associated with the medications. This battle with the medication’s side effects led Connie to look into other possible sources of relief.
The herbs that a friend suggested to reduce Critter’s cancerous tumors led to the discovery of natural remedies for her own condition. She began learning more about vitamins, minerals, and other natural alternatives to better control her lupus. This discovery led her to study with Certified Natural Health Professionals, and in 2000, she became CNHP certified.
With a desire to improve herself physically, Connie started practicing Jujitsu for both strength and coordination. She got her first degree black belt and opened her own dojo, St. Croix Martial Arts.
A woman of many talents, Connie became involved with massage therapy as well. In 2004, she became a certified massage practitioner. She became a licensed massage therapist in the state of Wisconsin in 2010, and this skill has become the core of Sunrise Healing Arts LLC. She continues to expand her base of knowledge and experience having completed the requirements for a Certified BioEnergetic Practitioner and Wellness Consultant in 2015.
